There’s nothing better than seeing your favourite artist perform and bonding over a shared love of a song. That feeling of celebration and euphoria is what life-long memories are made of. TD knows that Music is a building block for community and every year they help bring millions of Canadians together through festivals, events, and cultural celebrations. As Title Sponsor of the 2021 CCMA Awards, they’re helping to celebrate the homegrown musical excellence that contributes to the culture of country music.
This year is particularly special as it’s the first time in two years since the award show has taken place and nothing beats real-life connection. As part of the excitement, TD sponsored the CCMA Ultimate Fan Experience contest which scoured the nation in search of the ultimate country fan who will have the opportunity to experience VIP behind-the-scenes access at the awards.
Annette Dawm, CCMA Ultimate Fan Experience winner, presented this year’s Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award live, onstage at the awards on November 29.
The biggest night in country music, we’re honouring the CCMA’s by adding these nominees and Canadian country artists to our playlists.
Donovan Woods
Donovan Woods came on our radar first as a songwriter, “Leaving Nashville” recorded by Charles Kelley is a songwriter’s song that stood out. Some of country’s biggest acts have recorded Donovan’s music but his original songs are heavy-rotation-worthy. Like his latest track “Here in Chicago” which perfectly demonstrates his folk, alt-country vibe. He’s heading out on tour next year across Europe and Canada and his stage banter is as entertaining as his music, so we highly suggest checking out his upcoming dates here, which includes his Massey Hall headline debut. Woods was nominated for the 2021 CCMA Award for Alternative Country Album Of The Year for Without People.
