In Emotional Video Adele Postpones Las Vegas Residency
24 hours before the opening night of Adele’s Las Vegas Residency, the singer took to Instagram to announce in a tearful video that the show has to be postponed. “We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to pull it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my team, half my crew are down with COVID,” she emotionally says in her video before adamantly reassuring fans that all the dates will be rescheduled. This weekend would have been her first live concert in five years and the residency along with two dates in London’s Hyde Park this summer were the only scheduled shows following the release of 30. Emotional and gutted, she apologizes to fans who had already traveled to Vegas—now easy on me takes on a whole new meaning.

Gunna Edges Out The Weeknd in a Close Race For No. 1
On January 7th two albums were the most talked-about releases from new music Friday: Gunna’s DS4Ever and The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. Both albums, while very different sonically, were full of star-studded features and one of them was going to take the No. 1 album spot without a doubt. In a close race, Gunna took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with the equivalent of 150,300 sales in the US while The Weeknd had 148,000 according to MRC Data. A chart-topping album is most definitely P, making it Gunna’s second No. 1 album following the success of 2020’s Wunna. Popular songs off the album include “P Power” feat. Drake, the song was added a few days after the release due to a sample not being cleared and “pushin P” feat. Young Thug. The latter can be found everywhere in Instagram captions, tweets, even weather reports—pushing DS4Ever to the top spot.
