Momentarily filling the Sunday night void in our hearts with laughs, tender moments, and never-before-seen footage.

If you’ve been missing Euphoria Sundays as much as I have then allow me to provide some relief: HBO dropped a four-minute blooper reel from Season 2 on August 17th. No matter who your favorites are, there’s something for everyone. Our resident main character, Zendaya, messes up the order of “Jamie, Amy, Lanie” and comedically says “what the fuck is the order?” which is arguably not off-brand for Rue. It’s Alexa Demie’s British accent for me, “just having a little fun” she says in her UK voice while filming that hot tub scene with Cassie. Yes, I also have fun grilling my ex-boyfriend in literal hot water while my friends watch. Or when she endearingly tries to teach the young boy she babysits to say “Maddy you are such a good player” in a British accent again (I have questions about why this didn’t make the show, Maddy stans back me up).
There are plenty of cute blooper moments with the show’s couples. Remember that montage of scenes where Rue and Jules re-enact movie scenes of famous lovers? There were sure to be some laughs while filming them and the opening blooper scene is Zendaya and Hunter Schafer giggling during their Brokeback Mountain moment. Later in the reel, their pottery moment goes from cute to messy real quick. We got some much-needed Fexi content: Angus Cloud confusing Stand by Me with Lean on Me and introducing Chloe as Chloe instead of Faye to Lexi. We learned that Dominic Fike does not like bugs and Angus Cloud always gives out his real number when asked (fans are definitely mad this was bleeped out).
For a show that deals with some seriously heavy content, it’s nice to see the light-heartedness that goes on behind the scenes reminding us that it is a show—no matter how real the characters or storylines seem. Sigh, it’s a long wait until season 3 starts filming and an even longer wait until it airs but we’ll take the breadcrumbs of unaired BTS content until then. My takeaway from this montage is that the most commonly used 2 words on set are “cut it!” which feels like it could be integrated into real life. Messed up during your Zoom meeting? Cut it! Had an awkward moment on a first date? Cut it!
