Billie Eilish Creates Her Own Hype House in ‘Lost Cause” Video
Billie Eilish released her new single “Lost Cause” and with it came a music video with an aesthetic best described as Skims campaign meets TikTok hype house. Big L.A. Mansion? Check. TikTok dances? Check. Lots of neutral loungewear? Check. We’re here for it, though. “Lost Cause” is the fourth single off her upcoming album Happier Than Ever, which is set to release on July 30th.

John Mayer Embraces His ‘80s-Dad Aesthetic With New Album Sob Rock
It’s been four years since John Mayer’s last album, The Search For Everything, and we’ve been searching for new music ever since. He’s back with a new studio album titled Sob Rock set to release on July 16th. He made the announcement on social media and has been teasing some of the soon-to-be-released songs on TikTok—Gen Z style. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Mayer said the record is meant to bring comfort with its soft-rock vibes and he took heavy inspiration from the ‘80s because the sound has a security blanket aspect for him.

Grimes Says Artificial Intelligence Is The Fastest Path To Communism
In other TikTok news, Grimes took to the platform to share her thoughts about how communism and A.I. could work together. She also took to the comments to say it was a joke, LOL I guess?

SOPHIE’s Brother Says He Has Hundreds of The Producer’s Unreleased Songs
The late SOPHIE had tons of unreleased and unfinished work, like a pop album, before she passed. Her brother, Ben Long has all of it and is in talks about what he’s going to do with it. Long is also a mixing engineer and SOPHIE had discussed with him the idea to do an abstract experimental album and then a pop album. Long says his main focus is to do right by his sister and put out music SOPHIE would be happy with. Due to their close working and sibling relationship, he does know the direction a lot of unfinished music was going in—so a posthumous album is a real possibility, fingers crossed.

Spotify Launches New Personalised Wrapped-Like Feature ‘Only You’
Spotify has added a new personalized feature this week called ‘Only You’ that celebrates how users listen to music. It creates six new lists from the music you listen to according to themes like, ‘Your Dream Dinner Party,’ ‘Your Genres/Topics,’ ‘Your Song Year’, and one for all the astrology stans, ’Your Audio Birth Chart.’ In true astrology fashion, the birth chart listen is broken down even further into your Sun, Moon, and Rising sign. So far it’s a hit: everyone is sharing their ‘Only You’ lists on social media like it’s January and ‘2020 Wrapped’ just came out.
