If you’re anything like us, we see an interesting headline during our daily scroll—pause to read it—but then keep scrolling without reading the actual story. So at the end of each week, we’re rounding up all the buzziest, news-worthy headlines you might have missed. Think of it like the “saved” feature on Instagram but for news instead of aesthetically pleasing photos. Avril Lavigne Announces Signing To Travis Barker’s DTA Records
It’s no secret that pop punk has seen a revival this year propelled by Gen-Z artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Willow Smith, and Nessa Barrett. Well, it looks like one of the 2000s pop-punk OGs is about to make a comeback. Avril Lavigne took to Instagram this week to announce that she’s officially signed a deal with Travis Barker’s DTA Records. So to recap: a ‘90s pop-punk legend just signed a 2000s pop-punk OG to his label that nurtures current rising pop-punk artists. It’s a full-circle moment for the genre. Lavigne has already collaborated with Willow Smith this year but teased she might drop her first DTA single next week.

Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz Give Intimate Tour of “Dreamland” Mansion
The latest celebrity home to be toured by Architectural Digest is Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz cliffside mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Designed by Wallace E. Cunningham and is rumored to be the inspiration behind Tony Stark’s futuristic bachelor pad in the Iron Man movies. The power couple had been eyeing the home for so long it was Swizz Beatz’s phone screensaver for eight years before they purchased it in 2019. According to Keys, they renamed it “Dreamland” because it’s a place to create dreams and a dream come true to live there. Jaw-dropping features include the superhero-esque underground garage (Incredibles 2 anyone?) featuring a recording studio, the infinity pool, and views of the Pacific Ocean. The 11,000 square foot mansion is full of modern and wooden pieces and a prominent art collection bringing warmth to the contemporary design.

Jay-Z Joined Instagram For 24 Hrs & Dipped
Jay-Z joined Instagram this week and the internet quickly took note with screenshots circulating of his new account but within 24 hours his account was deleted. Highlights include: He became the only person Beyoncé follows (he followed her back), he amassed over 2 million followers, and he posted a photo promoting his new movie The Harder They Fall. Jay-Z moves fast but Twitter moves faster with tweets instantly speculating about his departure. My personal favorite says “Jay-Z activated Instagram for the sole purpose of promoting #TheHarderTheyFall. He fulfilled his contractual agreement and deactivated. A businessman.”

Megan Thee Stallion Shares Her College Graduation Photos
It’s a Hot Girl graduation for Megan Thee Stallion this week who shared her college graduation photos with the caption “showed my ass and still went to class.” Lol, I love to see it, Meg. She’s officially graduating from Texas Southern University with a degree in healthcare administration on December 11th. It’s a special occasion and a regular blue graduation cap just wouldn’t do for “Htwn Hottie”. Her custom cap is bedazzled and reads “Real Hot Girl Sh*t.” She has a performance in her hometown next month for the opening of 713 Music Hall and it’ll likely be a graduation party to remember.

The drummer for the legendary band the Go-Go’s, Gina Schock, became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week and released a new coffee book. Schock said the band had given up on joining the hall of fame and their nomination came as a happy surprise. Their OG fan and actress Drew Barrymore was the one that inducted them in a robe, hair towel, and face cream paying homage to the group’s Beauty album cover. The photo memoir Made In Hollywood: All Access with the Go-Go’s has never-before-seen pics of the band, their famous friends, and tells the wild stories behind the photos.
