The Lumineers had no problem making Budweiser Stage feel like a small, intimate venue. The show fostered connection, not only between the band and their fans, but also among the fans themselves. With thoughtful touches woven throughout, the night felt personal, memorable, and full of heart.
They opened with ‘Same Old Song’, instantly igniting the crowd, followed by the fan favorite ‘Flowers in Your Hair’. As the set rolled on, the band brought out opener Chase Peña for a stunning duet of ‘Charlie Boy’, showcasing the rising star’s talent.
Lead singer Wesley Schultz broke free from the main stage to do a full promenade up the aisles and through the lawn while performing ‘Sleep On The Floor’, further engaging the crowd as the band moved into more fan favourites such as ‘Gloria,’ ‘Slow It Down,’ and ‘WHERE WE ARE.’
‘Ophelia’ then lit up the stage as Wesley and Selth danced across it, tossing tambourines back and forth as the crowd sang, cheered, and danced along.
Even during slower songs, the energy never wavered. Each band member poured themselves into the performance, and even gave fans a chance to see their individuality as they all took a solo verse during ‘Big Parade’, showcasing talents beyond their instruments.
Schultz then shared a personal moment with the crowd as he spoke about the passing of his brother. In tribute, the band performed ‘New York State of Mind’ by Billy Joel, filling the crowd with raw emotion.
And then came the biggest surprise of the night: Zack Bryan joining the band for ‘Spotless’. The blend of his voice with Wesley’s, backed by the band’s musicianship, was nothing short of magical, a moment no one in the audience will forget.
