If you’re anything like us, we see an interesting headline during our daily scroll—pause to read it—but then keep scrolling without reading the actual story. So at the end of each week, we’re rounding up all the buzziest, news-worthy headlines you might have missed. Cowgirl Era Returns
Taylor Swift has done it again — this time trading heartbreak anthems for Woody’s hat, contributing an original song to Toy Story 5 and completing a circle that started when she was five years old dressed as Jessie for Halloween. “I Knew It, I Knew You,” produced with her trusty sidekick Jack Antonoff, is equal parts childhood dream and calculated power move from a woman who apparently never met a franchise she couldn’t conquer. Swift called it “a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” which honestly sounds like every Taylor Swift era, but we’ll allow it — because if anyone was always going to write a song for a movie about toys having an existential crisis over a tablet, it was her.

Wedding Bells
Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are married. The couple tied the knot May 31 at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London — she wore a Schiaparelli suit and a Stephen Jones hat, he wore Ferragamo navy, confetti was thrown, everyone looked incredible. A second ceremony is reportedly planned in Palermo, Italy, because a town hall in London is just the legal warmup when you’re Dua Lipa. The pair got engaged last year, with Lipa telling British Vogue it felt like choosing to “be best friends forever.” Cute, actually.

Steve Lacy is Back
Steve Lacy is back, lovelorn and Paris-poisoned, dropping third album Oh Yeah? on July 17 with lead single “The Feeling” — a dramatic meditation on whether he is, in fact, someone’s baby. Recorded partly in France because the beige lighting inspired him, it’s his first album since 2022’s Gemini Rights and marks a man newly committed to actually saying things with his words.

Ciara Miller X Shaboozey
Shaboozey is going full spaghetti Western with “Cowgirl,” a revenge ballad starring Summer House‘s Ciara Miller as a woman on a mission in the old West — and honestly, the casting makes sense. The track is off his forthcoming concept album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales (out July 31), a song-by-song revenge saga about a sheriff’s daughter who hunts down her father’s killers, falls for one of them, and then kills him anyway. Classic. It’s dark, it’s romantic, it’s tragic, and it sounds like the most ambitious thing country-adjacent music has attempted in a while — with an Outlaws Never Die Tour kicking off in September to match the drama.

FGL LFG
Florida Georgia Line are back — surprise CMA Fest appearance, boxing announcer intro, walk through the crowd, “Cruise” at full volume, crowd loses it. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley quietly teased the reunion all week via cryptic billboards and a mystery phone number before making it official Thursday night in Nashville. The duo split in 2022 amid rumoured political differences, but apparently “Cruise” is bipartisan. More to come, per the duo — LFG.
