It finally happened – Summer Walker officially kicked off her Still Finally Over It World Tour. With 20 stops across North America and the UK, night one began Tuesday night (May 26) at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Noted as the final chapter of her Over It trilogy, Summer Walker took fans on an emotional journey with a cinematic four-act performance featuring tracks from her Over It, Still Over It, and Finally Over It albums.
The evening began with a set from Dos Dias, a close collaborator of Walker’s, who last-minute replaced R&B singer Odeal as the supporting act due to production adjustments. Despite the sudden change, he delivered an energetic DJ set packed with contemporary and nostalgic R&B favourites, warming up the crowd ahead of the main performance.
Around 9:15 p.m., the lights dimmed, and out strutted Summer Walker wearing a stunning wedding gown – a look she has been rocking throughout the promotions of her latest Finally Over It album. Her silky, sonorous voice instantly filled the arena, sending chills through the crowd.
The growth Summer Walker has shown since her last headlined tour in 2019 is undeniable. From start to finish, fans belted every lyric with immense passion, proving that their connection to her music was deeply rooted through her raw lyricism and signature melodic style.
From the burlesque-inspired stage to the striking wardrobe changes, the production itself elevated the experience beyond a traditional concert. Throughout the night, her dancers stepped into the spotlight and gave jaw-dropping performances. One of the night’s standout moments featured an aerial pole dancer performing gracefully to “Tonight,” leaving the entire audience in awe.
Despite the scale of the arena production, Summer Walker successfully maintained an intimate atmosphere during her pop-up stage segment. The stage, designed as a dinner table covered in roses and taper candles, allowed fans the opportunity to experience a more personal connection with her and her performance. Summer Walker also paid tribute to one of her main inspirations, Amy Winehouse. With a cover of “Tears Dry on Their Own,” she brought a soulful touch to the night.
Summer Walker wrapped her hour-and-a-half concert with a heartfelt performance of “FMT.” To tie it all together, fans lit up the arena with phone flashlights, perfectly wrapping up the opening night of the tour.
