If you’re anything like us, we see an interesting headline during our daily scroll—pause to read it—but then keep scrolling without reading the actual story. So at the end of each week, we’re rounding up all the buzziest, news-worthy headlines you might have missed. Think of it like the “saved” feature on Instagram but for news instead of aesthetically pleasing photos. Nike enlisted Megan Thee Stallion to be a Hot Girl Coach, Drake and The Weeknd are getting a university course, and Justin Bieber created merch for the Toronto Maple Leafs—this is what you missed this week.

Drake and The Weeknd Are Getting Their Own University Course in Toronto
Have you ever tweeted, debated in a group chat, or left an Instagram comment about Drake and The Weeknd? Soon you’ll be able to move those discussions to the classroom and write papers longer than 280 characters about the two artists because they’re getting their own media course at Ryerson University. Titled “Deconstructing Drake and The Weeknd” the course will be taught by author, podcaster, and publicist Dalton Higgins. The first of its kind in Canada, Higgins pointed out that U.S colleges and universities have long had American artists integrated into their curriculums and it’s about time Canada does the same. The course will examine their career trajectory, the conditions that contributed to their success, and the infrastructure problems in the Canadian music scene that forced both of them to go to the U.S. Students can enroll in the course for the winter 2022 term.

Megan Thee Stallion Is Officially A Nike Hot Girl Coach
Calling all hotties! Thee Hot Girl Coach has a message for you in her latest partnership with Nike. Released yesterday on social media, Megan Thee Stallion and Nike made a commercial talking about her fitness journey and encouraging all hotties to join her. She confidently challenges the notion that the word “athlete” is exclusive to someone who plays sports. “Let’s see you run through 12-hour dance rehearsals, train five days a week, and then perform in front of 50,0000 people while squatting 50% of the time.” Say less Megan, I have no doubts about the athleticism that goes into the ridiculous amount of hours you spend performing and twerking. There’s even a viral TikTok trend called “Megan Knees” that shows users testing if they can squat as low as her (it’s harder than you think). If you failed the TikTok test or would simply like to reach her bionic knee status, look no further than the Nike NTC app. The custom workouts are narrated by Hot Girl coach Megan and a Nike trainer—summer might be over but get ready for a Hot Girl fall.

Rihanna Talks About ‘Really Experimenting’ On New Album
The wait for new music from Rihanna feels longer than the years of manifestation that she and A$AP Rocky would eventually date. It’s 2021, and we finally have Rih$AP but no follow-up to her 2016 album Anti. Earlier this week on the red carpet for her Savage x Fenty Vol. 3 show (premiering on Amazon Prime today) she gave us an update. PSA it’s not what you expect, “whatever you know of Rihanna is not gonna be what you hear,” she said elaborating that she’s approaching music as she does with fashion and is experimenting with a capital “E.” There’s no update on a timeline for the release but she’s been busy with other things like you know building a Fenty empire. Until then, I’ll be busy obsessing about all things Rih$AP and hoping for a Fashion Killa 2.0 in the near future.

Justin Bieber and the Toronto Maple Leafs Release Merch
Justin Bieber is going back to his roots and no, I do not mean his side-swept “Baby” era bangs but rather his Ontario roots. His brand, Drew House has partnered with the Toronto Maple Leafs for limited-edition merch and he’s sentimental about it. Growing up idolizing the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bieber said he’s on “cloud 9” being able to collaborate with them. As with all celebrity-endorsed drops, securing the merchandise is not as easy as clicking “add to cart.” Shoppers choose the items they want and proceed to checkout but are only entered into a draw to buy their selected items. The draw takes place today and fans who weren’t selected can keep their eyes peeled for items hitting the resell market soon.

Teyana Taylor Announces Her Final Tour Before Retirement
Teyana Taylor fans have one last chance to see her perform and say goodbye as she announced this week that ‘The Last Rose Petal Tour’ will be her last. The 12-city farewell starts on November 7th and the news doesn’t come as a complete surprise after her statement last year that she was retiring. The previous announcement was clarified as a warning to her label because she felt a disconnect but stands by her decision to retire. Stating she’s a mom first, Taylor has other things to prioritize and fans can watch her and her adorable family on their reality show “We Got Love Teyana & Iman.”
