“Cinnamon” – BENEE
I went to see BENEE live at Hollywood theater on March 4th, and ever since I’ve been really loving the new album. If you are into a pop music vibe, I definitely recommend listening to both “Cinnamon” and “Wishful Thinking”! BENEE is mostly known for the song that was popular on Tiktok called “Supalonely” and that is how I knew of her, but her other songs are really fun as well!

“Time Machine” – West 22nd
There’s nothing like finding a new indie surf-rock band to add to the rotation. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with West 22nd, a Texas-based band formed by friends who met in university. Although “Sunburns” is my all-time favorite, they recently released ‘Time Machine,” which is now on repeat. It’s the perfect balance of being chill yet upbeat, with a hint of nostalgia.

“Lost! (Flip)” – Portraits of Tracy
This song, to me, feels like a celebration – letting go of everything that is weighing you down and surrendering to the unknown. It’s very euphoric and upbeat. The whole album, ‘Drive Home: Parting Gifts’, tells the story of a character who is finding themselves. It’s worth a full listen, especially if you’re in an arch of self-discovery, or you just want to celebrate life!

‘This is What You Get’ – Kate Stephenson
This might be my favourite album release of 2026 so far… I’m not skipping any songs, but “Tracksuit”, “Dress Me Up”, and “Going On Words” are perfect. If you are into indie/alternative music you should check it out!!!

“BEAT UP CHANEL$” – Slayyyter
A project dropping this month that I’m absolutely hyped for is Slayyyter’s fourth studio album, ‘WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA’. I’ve been listening to the singles nonstop, and my favourite is probably “BEAT UP CHANEL$”. It’s a playful, cheeky track with see-you-next-Tuesday energy.

“Earth, Wind & California” – YEBBA
SUCH a cool and experimental song, a standout in an album I’ve already fallen in love with. I can’t say I’m surprised to see her to depart from her R&B roots given the range of diverse genres she’s leaned into over her discography. I am pleased to see how creative and lush songs like this turned out on the album, while maintaining that authentic “grit” she brings to her storytelling. Earth, Window & California particularly reminds me of 90s classics from The Cranberries, a little Sheryl Crowe too? I can’t wait to see this album performed live in a couple months!

“Top of the Bill” – Gurriers
In preparation for their first-ever Toronto show, I’ve had Gurriers’ debut album Come and See on repeat. The Dublin-based post-punk group released the 11-track record in 2024, with the standout single “Top of the Bill” racking up more than four million streams on Spotify. The social commentary in their lyrics, paired with noisy guitars and raw vocals, creates a sound that reminds me of groups like The Murder Capital, another incredible Dublin-based act. Ireland’s rock and post-punk scene is full of gems, and Gurriers are quickly becoming one of my favorites.
