Lazarus OST – Bonobo
Bonobo’s catalogue is just so listenable! I can throw his music on everyday and not get sick of it. It chills me out, it pumps me up. Lately, his full lengths are all a bit more club friendly, so the somewhat laidback vibe of this new album is very welcome. I haven’t had a chance to watch the Adult Swim anime series that it was produced for (Lazarus), but having listened to the album at least a dozen times since it came out in April, I’m sure it’d make for a fun watch to see the source material too.

“cherry cola” – Devon Again
I’m currently listening to cherry cola by Devon Again! It was such a random find from one of my girl pop daylists, but I’ve been so obsessed and constantly find myself playing it on repeat. The chorus brings me all the good summer vibes!

“Burn Me” – Jonah Kagen & Sam Barber
I have had “Burn Me” by Jonah Kagen featuring Sam Barber on repeat since its release! This is not just fan service; it’s a deeply personal and powerful song exploring the challenges of growing up amidst conflicting religious beliefs. Jonah’s unique quaver perfectly complements Sam’s strong tenor as they belt out the unforgettable chorus. The track’s raw honesty and evolving sound, from acoustic beginnings to a full, anthemic swell, make it incredibly compelling.

“All I Can Say” – Kali Uchis
The song is a mix of Alternative R&B and an Indie type of music, and gives the heart a hug. I love listening to it for moments when i need to relax, and literally get into the lyrics. I turn off my brain completely and go on loop with All I can say and Hits Different.

Addison – Addison Rae
As a long-time Addison Rae defender, I’ve obviously been thoroughly enjoying her self-titled debut album, Addison. Top to bottom it is a master class in campy, bright, pop music, rich with atmospheric synths, hazy like cigarette smoke. I’ve been wondering how this album fits into the current indie sleaze revival. I’ve seen a lot of people online asking, “does Addison’s rebrand feel authentic?” Personally, I’m starting to feel like her authenticity matters less and less to me, as pop stars are destined to reinvent themselves over and over again. This is just our second iteration of Addison Rae, and I’m enjoying it. Standouts on the album for me are “Fame is a Gun” and “New York”.

“AfterImage”- Jiwoo
Lately I’ve been really into “AfterImage” by Jiwoo. It’s not his most popular track, but it’s my favorite so far! There’s something about the beat that just hits right. Combined with the music video visuals featuring shots at the uni I went to, the music if fresh yet familiar. I saw him a while back when he opened for Colde in Toronto, and I’ve been more of a fan ever since. Jiwoo’s opening for Jay B at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on June 15, and I’m excited to see what he puts out next.

“NEVER ENOUGH” – Turnstile
Charli XCX was right… it’s officially ‘Turnstile Summer’. The Baltimore hardcore band just released their new album NEVER ENOUGH, a mini-doc screened at theatres across North America, and the band celebrated with a boisterous set Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn, featuring a surprise appearance from Paramore legend Hayley Williams. Earlier this month Turnstile also played a massive free benefit concert in their hometown, with a crowd of ten thousand showing up to mosh, stage dive, sing along, and witness the beloved band’s next era unfold. 15 years and 4 albums in, Turnstile continue to grow, defying expectations and genre labels. As for the album itself, the rave reviews are piling up from Exclaim!, NEM, The Guardian, Pitchfork and more. I can’t wait to dig in…. if I can ever get the opening and title track NEVER ENOUGH off repeat.
