Growing up in the digital age of the internet had one golden rule: clear your search history. Whether you were looking at some not-so-PG content, googling symptoms of a health concern, or creeping your ex, the bottom line was to delete and leave no trace for anyone else to find. We’re a bit older and wiser now and our Google search history is far more interesting—so we’ve decided to share ours every week. Below, find answers to questions about music, pop culture, entertainment, and news.
Every Song From ‘Euphoria’s Season 2 Premiere
The return of Euphoria spawned many Google searches but reviews and new cast members aside, let’s take a moment to talk about the soundtrack. As soon as Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” started blasting during the intro and transitioned to Rue rapping along in the car, I already knew this episode was about to have a good tracklist. Save yourself the time, put away your shazam, and search for it because it’s longer than an album. There were ‘90s hip-hop classics from Biggie, Tupac, and DMX. Music from artists you may not know like Tariq, Blaq Tuxedo, and Big Mali. Along with classics from Billy Swan, The O’ Jays, and Gerry Rafferty.
Golden Globes 2022: Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Makes History
If the Golden Globes came and went without you even knowing, you’re not alone. The ceremony took place behind closed doors with no red carpet, celebrities, or press in the form of a live blog. Trying to follow along as the winner’s names were announced on the organization’s social media feed was confusing, to say the least. Tweets would name the winner and category they won in but not the project. Anyone who thinks social media is not a full-time job should review this rollout as a case study. Best actress was taken home by Nicole Kidman and Rachel Zegler in the Drama and Musical/Comedy categories respectively. Best actor was won by Will Smith (Drama) and Andrew Garfield (Musical/Comedy). Billie Eilish and Finneas’ song “No Time To Die” for the James Bond film won Best Original Song for a motion picture. However, the most notable award of the night was Michaela Jaé Rodriguez’s win for Best Actress in a TV drama for her role as Blanca on FX’s Pose making her the first transgender actress to win a Golden Globe. Rodriguez celebrated her win on social media sharing her excitement and hope that this will open the door for others to follow in her footsteps.
Who Is Julia Fox?
As soon as the photoshoot from Kanye and Julia Fox’s second date hit the internet, it was a race against time as publications and Twitter tried to dig as much dirt as possible to answer the question on everyone’s minds: who is Julia Fox? For those who’ve watched Uncut Gems, you might be familiar with her. She plays Julia (Adam Sandler’s love interest) and her character was based on herself. Yes, you read that right Fox was friends with the Safdie brothers back when they were writing the script and they were so intrigued by her she got her own character. That’s just the tip of the iceberg—she’s been a muse and artist in the New York creative community for years. She’s self-published two photography books: Symptomatic of a Relationship Gone Sour: Heartburn/Nausea (2015) and PTSD (2016). Waiting for copies of these to hit eBay as the Kanye plot thickens. She co-founded a luxe knitwear line with her friend called Franziska Fox when she was 23. She also had some interesting side hustles to pay for her creative endeavors like flipping drugs, selling her underwear, and a short dominatrix era. She has an ex-husband named Peter Artemiev with whom she shares a son and does not hesitate to call out. She gives more context on her podcast, Forbidden Fruits, saying her son comes above all else. I was familiar with Fox pre-Kanye and after this recent search, my conclusion remains the same. She’s a multi-hyphenate creative who’s unapologetically herself and has an intention behind her career moves. Is her relationship with Kanye real? Performance art? A mutually beneficial partnership? Those questions remain unanswered as Fox’s name continues to rack up Google searches.
Is Paramore Working On A New Album?
PSA: Paramore is coming back. A photo of the group’s members—Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro—in the studio was posted on Rolling Stone’s IG and quickly made its rounds on Twitter where I found it. Prompting me to search the above question and find that Paramore is not only in the studio but Williams is trying to get SZA in there with them. A new Paramore album featuring SZA would truly be the gift we all need in 2022. Williams says the new album might not be the pop-punk comeback we think as the group enters new sonic territory but will still feel nostalgic with the guitar at the forefront.
