Remember Janet Jackson’s controversial SuperBowl outfit that ended with a nip-slip in 2004? What about her couture dominatrix look from Busta Rhymes “What’s It Gonna Be” video? What those two looks have in common is Wayne Scott Lucas, her stylist. A mainstay in Jackson’s career, he’s behind countless other fashion moments for the pop icon spanning her four-decade career. In the spirit of Jackson’s birthday, Lucas is auctioning off 1,000 of her most memorable looks, personal items, and accessories from various tours, red carpet events, and music videos. The five-time Grammy Award-winning singer’s collection of vintage Louboutins is even a part of the auction. The three-day event honors Jackson and her many accolades, taking place in Beverly Hills and online at Julian’s auctions from May 14th to 16th. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Compassion International, a global child-advocacy ministry that works to reduce child poverty worldwide. We’re highlighting some of the best looks up for grabs.
