Say it with me: Cordless headphones are the greatest invention since sliced bread. Cliché saying, I know. But the truth is, when my old pair of wireless headphones would run out of battery because I forgot to charge them for the umpteenth time, I had to go back to using my wired set. And let me tell you, it’s a hellscape of cord tangling and untangling. We just forgot about the inconvenience of wires and the freedom of a Bluetooth connection. It’s why I was excited when Huawei came out with their FreeBuds 4i that lasts for 10 hours of playback—and in my world, that means a few days without having to re-juice up. Less charging is a win in my book. 

I wanted to see how the FreeBuds 4i fared in my day-to-day compared to other brands of wireless headphones I’ve used. To give you some context, here’s what a typical day looks like for me. On a good day, when my willpower is high, I start off with a quick workout. These days, I tend to reach for a jump rope with a good playlist and head to the park by the lake. And as the office starts to slowly fill back up with my colleagues, being able to drown out the office ambiance while on client calls or while churning out some big artist features, is important. By 6 PM, I’ve spent the majority of my day on virtual video calls, phone meetings, or zoning out to Khalid while writing a profile on the next breakout musician.
