Thanks to Harry Styles I am starting off my week pleased. Why? He’s finally confirmed his rumored beauty brand, Pleasing, in his Dazed cover story along with a gender-defying photoshoot to bless our social feeds. Styles is not the first or last musician to enter the beauty entrepreneurship game but it’s a move that feels right for the singer. If you’ve been paying attention to Styles then you’re familiar with his eclectic style pairing feather boas with leather suits, wearing dresses for Vogue covers, and dressing up as Dorothy for Halloween.
Here’s what we know about Pleasing: nail polish is the first product Styles wanted to make inspired by the colors around him and wanting to paint it on his nails. “I really think that the essence of Pleasing is finding those little moments of joy and showing them to people,” says Styles on what his brand is about. The products currently available are: Pearlescent illuminating serum, Pleasing Pen for lips and eyes, and Perfect Pearl nail polish—all of which are sustainably made. “We also totally understand that we are putting more product into the world, so if we’re gonna do that, then we have to do it the right way,” says Styles about the sustainability aspect of his brand. Pleasing uses post-consumer plastics and compostable paper printed with bio-sourced inks.

Though the initial drop is small, there’s more to come. The Pleasing website is live with all three products available for pre-order. The nail polish notably comes with a set of alphabet stickers to customize your manicure—dare I say they aim to please. Styles says he wants to work with talented people who deserve a spotlight shone on them, and his products are made to help people feel beautiful rather than alter their physical appearance.
Leaving you with some final words of wisdom from Styles before you go about your day. “As humans, we are always changing, we’re always learning new stuff and I don’t know why a company can’t operate from that same kind of standpoint.” Will Pleasing become the next Fenty and shake up the beauty industry? Only time and product drops will tell.
