Born from the chaotic spotlight of Simon Cowell’s The Next Act, December 10 is less about the polished boy band act and more about seven distinct personalities that form it. Between sold-out shows and a Netflix series, the group has managed to keep things grounded, often trading their vocal spots for instruments to bring a raw, live-band feel to the stage. It’s a project built on genuine brotherhood and a “come as you are” energy that feels rare in the modern pop landscape, giving fans a front-row seat to their evolution from individual hopefuls into a cohesive, self-taught family.
You were formed on camera during Simon Cowell, The Next Act. What’s something viewers didn’t get to see about the process that really shaped the band?
Nicolas: I’d probably say like our banter between us– that didn’t feel like that wasn’t one of the main aspects that came across in the show. So if I had to say one specific thing it would probably be that.
Josh: I think I’d say our chemistry, it didn’t show like, I think on the show it jumped to the main things that went on, like our trip to Miami, but it didn’t show the little things which were important. I think us bonding and behind the scenes of us like having a laugh.
Sean: I was kind of the same after we all got in, it was kind of like key moments when we got a label where you know what I mean? Didn’t show the month bonding.
There were over 1000 hopefuls in the audition process. When did it start to feel real that the 7 of you might actually become a group?
Hendrik: We never actually knew there were gonna be 7 of us.
Sean: There’s a clip in the show where we’re counting down the numbers of how many people could be disappointed. So for us, literally until we got in, it was like– there’s probably about 4 or 5 or something like that. I think that even kind of afterwards for a little bit we were still a tad weary about it all. You know what I mean? Processed it now, which is good.
Now that you’ve spent some time together touring and recording, what’s something that you’ve learned about each other that has surprised you?
Josh: I think I knew these boys too well before the tour, so I don’t think there’s many things they could do that could surprise me.
Sean: Danny likes to play music to go to sleep.
Danny: Just on the tour bus. We used to do it every night.
Hendrik: And the funny bit is I’d go to Cruz Block: “Cruz, was that you?” And he’d be like, “no”, cos Danny’s just done it. And then the next time they’d play it, I’d go to Danny and be like, Is that you?
Nicolas: Because they keep messaging each other.
Hendrik: Then Cruz does it too. So I’d be like, Who is it? It’s just both of them playing music loud at 2 a.m all the time
Your new single Angel feels very different, coming from a very different side of the band compared to Run My Way. What made you want to lead with a softer ballad this early in your career?
Nicolas: I feel like precisely that ‘Run My Way’ has a very distinct, energetic, sound to it. We felt like that was like the perfect sound to represent us as a band. But us being 7, there are 7 different personalities, so there is that difference in sound and genres with each one of us in terms of music that we listen to. So we probably felt like “Angel” would be the best route. After ‘Run My Way’ in terms of music really, as it’s a completely different genre and different like, yeah, it’s more of a ballad really, yeah.
Josh: I just want to show what we can do. Like, we’re not just stuck to 1 thing, we can do whatever.
Fans were already singing “Angel” Back to you on tour before it was officially out. What’s that moment like for the first time it happened?
Nicolas: I mean, just like since we on tour we performed a couple of unreleased songs, so of course in the first shows they didn’t really know the lyrics, but by like the end of the tour in Dublin, which was the last country that we did the tour in, they like started singing the the lyrics with us and that was like a magical moment.
Boy bands have evolved a lot over the past few years, from NSYNC to One Direction to today. What do you think a modern boy band should look and sound like in 2026?
Danny: I feel like we really want to speak for that really, because I feel like there’s such diversity and so much culture in this band, you know. It’s something beautiful and I think it’s something the world has never seen before. I feel like it makes us really proud to be a part of this beautiful project.
Sean: Also,I believe it’s like, kind of added to Cruz’s thing, it’s like authenticity is important to be yourself, you know. We’re not trying to sculpt ourselves to dress the same way and act the same way. Even when we were in the audition process, we just remained true to ourselves, which I think is what led us to create December 10th. And so yeah, like, maybe that’s a modern twist on it to just be yourself.
You’ve already played 13 sold out shows across the UK and Ireland. What has surprised you most about seeing your fan base in real life for the first time?
Josh: How crazy they are. Yeah, they’re passionate, so passionate.
Sean: And like just how mad they go when they actually see it. Like, they scream.
Hendrik: Sometimes I scream at them because they screamed at me. So, yeah, a lot of them we just end up screaming at each other.
Sean: Some of them like to hold your hands and stuff and I’ve had some of them say like, “oh my God, you’re real.” I’m like, “yeah, obviously yeah.” Oh my God, I thought we were AI.
With 7 members, how do you balance personalities, ideas, and creative input when you’re working on music?
Sean: I think it’s just quite natural. I feel like a good thing also is like we tend to always be on the same page, and if we’re not, we’ll openly speak about it and we’ll discuss it. It’s quite democratic the way we go about things. And in terms of the music, we kind of like to all go into the studio and put our own twist on things. We don’t really like to copy each other. I want to do my own thing. And so I think that’s what makes the music the way it is as well.
You guys all play instruments. Do you see December 10 evolving toward a band style type performance on stage, or?
Josh: I think we’ve already kind of done that on tour. On tour we performed, “End of Beginning” by DJO. It was quite like a band style performance. I was on the drums, these two (Nicolas and Sean) on the electric guitar, Hendrick as well on the guitar, John on the piano.
Nicolas: I mean, like you said, we all play instruments, so we feel it’s important to bring that aspect of things, especially in the live. In the live shows, I feel like the fans really enjoyed it as well, so we’re looking forward to incorporating it to more shows in the future.
Josh:Yeah, but I’m, I’m just, I’m glad that we can just do both quite confidently. We could do no instruments, but then we can also do instruments. It’s quite nice, and we can step side to side.
You’ve had a huge few months already, Netflix series, debut singles, sold out shows. What does success look like for you guys by the end of 2026?
Sean: Well, for me, I think we’re already on that track. It’s making a solid connection with whoever fans that we have. I think that’s really important for us. The fans are what make you. Without them, we wouldn’t be performing shows, and we wouldn’t be able to release music. So, I think, hopefully by the end of 2026, and as I said, we can already see it forming. We have a really tight knit group that enjoys our music and we kind of enjoy their company at live shows and stuff like that as well.
If someone is hearing December 10th for the first time through Angel, what do you hope they take away from the song?
Danny: I hope they take away like a lot of passion, lots of love, and I hope they also know that they’re an angel as well because everyone is an angel that listens to our music and we appreciate every single fan out there that plays it, that even looks at our TikToks, sees our videos, you know, it’s all appreciated
If you guys could collectively describe yourselves in three words, what would they be?
Sean: Oh team huddle.
Josh Chaotic, try that one out.
Nicolas: Fun
Sean: Energetic.
Josh: Family, I’d say family. Oh, we are a family
If you could give a piece of advice to anyone starting out in their music career right now, what would you say?
Josh: I think just go for any opportunity you see. Don’t care about what other people think about you, because I think a lot of people struggle with that like, “oh, if I go to this, what are they gonna say?, what, what are they gonna say?” Just go for it.
Hendrik: No one actually cares that much. Just do it. You only live once.
Nicolas: Yeah, that’s why I’d also say authenticity is key. Stay true to yourself.
Danny: Always trust in God.
