Ariana Grande’s highly anticipated eighth studio album Petal has finally been released, being branded as an old fashioned triumph compared to her other projects. The project is 12 tracks long, and explores a broader theme of resilience and growth from who she once was. Petal, comes two years after her hit album Eternal Sunshine, a record she is still on stage performing for fans, giving her the perfect opportunity to test out her new tracks in venues across the world.

On Top Of The World

Coming off of her newly released album A*POP, Tyla took to social media to announce her brand new world tour for the project. Tyla’s name has been hot in the press recently with her involvement in performances across North America for the most recently finished World Cup, having appearances in the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament, along with a song in the official soundtrack with Future. The Party Never Ends in NYC

Shakira’s first performance Post-World Cup went down in none other than New York City and it took the city by storm. With her, other artists that had the opportunity to participate in the games performances made appearances, such as Burna Boy, to perform their hit single “Dai, Dai” and Tyla who is piggybacking off of her newly released album A*POP. The surprise guest however was not somebody anybody was expecting, as she brought out Ed Sheeran to perform in one of the more interesting groups of artists to perform together on the same stage.

BTS Takes No BS

BTS made headlines this week over their controversial decision to not submit their music for any potential 2027 Grammy awards following the addition of the new “Asian Pop” category. They stated that they wanted their work to be desired for what it was and to not be divided by region or language. Despite multiple nominations in the past, BTS actually have not won a grammy yet. It’s unknown as to whether or not BTS would have even been nominated for the awards, seeing as how majority of their album Arirang is actually sung in English while the award’s description said the music needed to be recognized in Asian Markets, and was not limited to J-Pop, K-Pop and C-Pop.

Tracklist was lost and now found

Phoebe Bridgers continues to ramp up the hype towards her next album releasing in August, titled Lost Weekend. Her first album since Punisher’s release in 2020, is expected to be 16 tracks long barring any last minute changes with her lead single being released last week titled “Lost Boys”. The release is expected to feature production help from none other than Jack Antonoff, and other featured contributions from her fellow boygenius bandmates.
