Taylor Swift is Breaking Conventions in Her ‘Eras’ Tour
There is a new destination to visit on the map, and it’s Swift City in ERAzona, with a population of 70,000 swifties in town for Taylor Swift’s first stop in her ‘Eras’ tour. After the ticket sale fiasco with Ticketmaster, the pop icon officially kicked off her tour last week, and even if you were not at the concert, you sure have seen clips of it on your feed. From the enchanted set design to captivating choreography and smooth transition of songs, the best way we can describe the tour is maybe “unprecedented” and “astronomical”. Still, even that doesn’t quite capture the Broadway extravaganza because did we all see how she dived into the stage? Since Swift’s last tour, the ‘Reputation Stadium’ tour, the artist has come out with 4 studio albums: Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights and many fans are listening to the tracks from those records live for the first time. Swift did not disappoint, though, as her tracklist was 44 songs long, spanning 17 years of the singer’s prolific music career. As the pop icon strutted down the stage, going album by album (or era by era) in color-blocked segments, we see the stage change from a mossy cabin to a high-rise office for The Man. Every audience member has a color-synced bracelet timed with the full array of stadium lights to create the ultimate immersive experience into the fantastical worlds of Taylor Swift. With only 1 show down, Taylor Swift is already breaking conventions left and right. From breaking the all-time record for the most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day to delivering a 3-hour-and-15-minute show to her fans, Taylor Swift is projected to outgross her ‘Reputation Stadium’ Tour, which holds the all-time female record for the highest-grossing tour in the United States.

Doja Cat Pens ‘Hellmouth’ for 4th Studio Album Title
From the showstopping Schiaparelli outfit to the androgynous Viktor&Rolf look involving a mustache and eyebrows made with false eyelashes, we all bear witness to Doja Cat’s bold attempts in fashion. Perhaps what’s even more exciting than waiting for her next fashion look is knowing that the singer’s return to music as she pens in ‘Hellmouth’ as the title of her 4th studio album coming out sometime in 2023. The announcement came suddenly when the singer tweeted a hashtag with the album title impromptu, which got fans speculating what the genre of the new album would be. Doja Cat said in an interview with Dazed earlier that she’s exploring the territories of punk, “But not pop-punk,” she says. “I want to explore more of a raw, unfiltered, hardcore punk sort of thing.” So it would be reasonable to assume that the new album is punk-inspired, but she quickly shut down fan speculation, so it is up in the air what the album’s vibe will be. In the same interview, the singer opened up about forthcoming projects and mentioned her plans to release several singles that “need to come out” before her full album project. Doja Cat’s last studio album, Planet Her, was released in 2021, and her most recent single was her 2022 track ‘Vegas’ for the Elvis biopic starring Austin Butler. It’s been a minute since everyone has heard new bops from the superstar, and we’re all eager to hear the new era sound from our favorite chaotic princess.

SZA Stars in New SKIMS Campaign as Arena Tour Comes to a Close
SZA’s ‘SOS’ tour will go down as a core memory for many of us. It is the way she could sing about relationships, self-acceptance, and heartbreaks with such microscopic insight that makes us turn to her to express our private troubles in public comfort. When she told us she wanted her concert to feel like a Broadway show and that she was “deeply excited to pop ass and cry and give theater,” she really did what she set out to do. The 90-minute set was filled with intricate yet interpretative dance numbers, elaborate set designs that included a floating rescue boat, a makeshift loading dock, a lot of wave imagery., and of course, songs from both her SOS and CTRL albums. Thirty days and 17 cities later, the North American leg of SZA’s tour comes to an end at The Forum in LA, and in attendance was Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Adele, Savannah James, and Kim Kardashian, to name a few, to witness the chart-topper’s finale. SZA was enlisted as the star of the new SKIMS campaign sporting the brand’s Fit Everybody intimates series to celebrate the arena tour winding down. In a statement, SZA shares that she feels excited about the opportunity to work with a brand that “strives to make women feel comfortable and sexy.” Similarly, SKIMS’s founder, Kim Kardashian, is enthralled with the singer, calling SZA “truly the woman of the moment.” Indeed she is. Releasing her album at the end of last year, SOS collected its 14th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and only 7th other album had done so since 2010. The star power of SZA is undisputed, and we can’t wait for what else she has in store for us.

Sabrina Carpenter Taps Coi Leray for “Nonsense” Remix
Sabrina Carpenter lost all her chill when she released “Nonsense,” and she’s now tapping Coi Leray in hopes that she will help her find it. The news came after the bubbly singer teased it in January when she asked her fans who they’d want to see featured. The responses were flooded with pleas of Ice Spice, Dove Cameron, and Tate McRae, but ultimately, who came through was Coi Leray in her apple bottoms, who wants to have a good time. Sabrina shared the exciting news with her fans on Instagram yesterday with a special edition of her cheeky outro that she’s known to do, saying, “This song harder than keepin’ a secret/ He said my head’s crazy, I’m a genius/ What’s better than one pop star? It’s two, bi—/ It’s Coi Leray and ‘Brina on the remix.” “Nonsense” was first released as the fifth single on the pop singer’s studio album Emails I Can’t Send and peaked at No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100s. Leray hopped on the sing, rapping about a guy she liked but got attached to way too quickly in a short time — understandable given the undeniable charisma from both ladies. In addition to linking up with Coi Leray, Sabrina stayed busy presenting awards to TWICE at the Billboard Women In Music awards and is set out to join BLACKPINK and Mae Stephens at the British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series this Summer. Here’s to catching the love bug and more iconic hits from the candy pop singer!

Maren Morris, Hayley Williams, and Hozier Sing Out for Trans and Drag Rights at Nashville ‘Love Rising’ Benefit
Maren Morris showed us what a true queen we’re stanning as she joined a host of Tennessee drag queens to protest the recent state legislation aimed at cross-dressing performers, trans-youth, and same-sex marriage. Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Hozier joined her, who all came through at the four-hour “Love Rising” benefit event that filled Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena with fans and the LGBTQ+ communities and allies. Maren Morris received a hero’s welcome after standing up for trans youth and their families in an online debate with fellow country star Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, when most decided to bite their town. Morris performed multiple hit singles at the event, including “The Middle,” where she appeared on stage with drag queen Alexia Noelle Paris. She also brought her son backstage, where all the queens were getting ready and doing their makeup. In a true icon fashion, she says on stage, “Yes, I introduced my son to some drag queens today, so Tennessee, f**ing arrest me.”
