Beyoncé Announces Her ‘Renaissance’ 2023 World Tour
This is not a drill! Queen Bey is coming to a city near you. Beyoncé has posted a run of global tours for her most recent album Renaissance. The news comes to us after Beyoncé made headlines last month for her remarkable performance—her first in four years—in Dubai at the Atlantis Royal Resort. The show was a theatrical production, to say the very least. If you’re wondering why you didn’t attend—it was invite-only and not a reflection of your devotion. Renaissance songs weren’t played at the performance, and in retrospect, we understand why. She was saving it for the real thing. She is set to kick off the European and UK leg of the stadium tour on May 10th in Stockholm, followed by dates in Brussels, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sunderland, and Paris prior to her two dates at London’s Tottenham Hotspur on May 29th and 30th. The tour will continue through Europe and then embark on the North American leg in July, starting in Toronto on the 8th before closing out in New Orleans on September 27th. With this exciting news, panic naturally ensues over the chaos of highly-anticipated presales and the ambition—no, necessity—to secure seats. The North American leg of the ‘Renaissance’ tour will make tickets available through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system, which determines limitations on the number of scalpers buying tickets. This functions by confirming users are individuals whose activity history cannot be tied back to reselling. The multiple rounds of sales begin on Monday, February 6th. Brace yourselves.

Boygenius, LCD Soundsystem, and Steve Lacy Are Set To Headline Re:Set
Another week, another music festival lineup announcement and no, we’re definitely not complaining. This time around, a traveling concert series called Re:Set, is taking place this June featuring three nightly concerts in 12 different cities with three different headliners. After releasing new singles coupled with their announcement of a full-length record coming by the end of March, Boygenius will be 1 of the 3 headlining acts at Re:Set. The two other headliners are the rock band, LCD Soundsystem, and Steve Lacy. The format of the concert series may be confusing at first glance, but essentially, each artist will perform all 12 nights, in rotating cities with their own special guests they decide to bring onto the traveling show with them. To make this clearer, the first shows take place on Friday, June 2, and that night, LCD Soundsystem will headline a show at Stanford’s Frost Amphitheater; Boygenius will perform at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California; and Steve Lacy will be playing Thrive Park at Snapdragon Stadium. And for us the concertgoers, we can expect nothing short of a good time. Boygenius’ guests include Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange. At LCD Soundsystem’s stage, we can anticipate seeing Jamie xx, Big Freedia, and L’Rain, and Steve Lacy is expected to welcome James Blake, Toro y Moi, and Foushée. Hitting 12 major cities in the US, including LA, San Diego, Houston, New Orleans, New York, Boston, Chicago, and more, it’s safe to say that this will be a time to remember. If you need a reason to travel for the summer, following the footsteps of Re:Set’s may just be the thing to get you out the door.

The Jonas Brothers Receive Their Walk of Fame Star
We were all suckers for the Jonas Brothers at one point or another, and the news of them receiving their Walk of Fame Star pulls on the strings in the soft spot we’ve reserved in our hearts for them. In celebration of the big day, the partners of the 3-member group, Danielle Jonas, Sophie Turner, and Priyanka Chopra, all came to support. On Instagram, Turner captioned a photo from the event with “[t]o see the hard work and love and light you boys bring to your music… it’s an honor just to watch from the sidelines,” along with the rest of the Jonas ladies share a similar sentiment. A very special supporter also came through for Nick Jonas, in addition to his wife; their year-old baby, Malti, born in January 2022, made her very first attendance at a public event. The couple’s babe was seen perched on her mom’s lap as Nick and his brothers accepted their honor, immediately winning the hearts of the entire crowd. Nick didn’t forget to give his daughter a sweet shoutout during his remarks at the podium, saying, “To my beautiful wife. You are the calm in the crazy, the rock in the storm, and I love being married to you. It is the greatest gift. And I love being a parent with you, so Malti Marie, hi babe. I can’t wait to come back here with you in 15 years and embarrass you in front of your friends.” Regarding the special honor, the brothers reflect that it has been “a testament to the love and support of our fans, our family and our friends who have been with us every step of the way.” The Jonas Brothers are excited about becoming new Walk-of-Famers, so much so that during the ceremony, they announced that they would be dropping their sixth studio album, The Album,—so meta—on May 5, followed by a tour. It’s rumored that the forthcoming album features modernized ‘70s pop and Americana sounds. Time to dig out your JoBros merch from middle school.

Slowthai Is Going On a £1 UK Tour
UK artist—and BeatRoute alumni—slowthai has announced a rather unique tour for his friends and fans back home. Coming to us shortly after the rapper announced his third studio album UGLY, and the first single for the project “Selfish”, slowthai has confirmed a six-date pub tour. Yes, a pub tour. Naturally, the tour is titled Best Night Of Your Life and will begin on February 28 at the Independent Pub in Sunderland. The tour will end on March 3rd in slowthai’s home of Northampton. Oh, and the best part? The tickets will be on sale for £1. At this point, you may be wondering why. Well, back in 2019, slowthai did a similar run-around of pubs, with tickets costing—you guessed it—99p! In celebration of his debut album Nothing Great About Britain, he said, “I’ll come to every pub; your dad’s working men’s club — I just wanna see all of you and connect.” He had also held a second tour the same year, in which he raised the cost to a whopping £5. Speaking on the matter he shared, “It’s important to me that people can have access to me and my music.” And with that, slowthai is asserting himself as an artist of the people.
