Megan Thee Stallion Makes a Cameo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘She-Hulk’
Calling all Meg and Marvel stans for the collab of a lifetime. Megan Thee Stallion makes an appearance in Episode 3 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law streaming on Disney+ to twerk with Tatiana Maslany, who plays lawyer Jennifer Walters, aka She in She-Hulk. The crucial cameo involves an Asgardian shapeshifting trickster, transforming into a massive celebrity. We’ll spare some of the details in case you haven’t seen it yet, but really, what are you waiting for? According to the show’s head writer, Jessica Gao, the producers had been debating which celebrity would best suit the role for weeks. “There was a big varied list of different people that constantly changed, and the type of celebrity really ebbed and flowed too,” Gao tells Variety, “depending on what kind of jokes we wanted to make.” Eventually, they settled on the best person for the job: Megan Thee Stallion! Jessica Maslany allegedly fangirled—hard. And she wasn’t the only one. Meg herself took to Instagram to share the twerk clip and claimed she had a blast and was going to manifest more of these opportunities.

Taylor Swift Announces Upcoming Album ‘Midnights’ And Unveils 4 Covers
After embarking on her journey of re-recording her first six studio albums, Taylor Swift announced at MTV’s VMAs on Sunday when accepting video of the year award that she was stepping into the future of Swift music with her upcoming 10th studio album Midnights. Fans are beyond excited as it is her first new material since Evermore which came out in 2020. Taylor Swift said she wrote “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life” into this album, which will be ready for release by October 21. She gave fans some further insight sharing, “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace are the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching—hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes 12… we’ll meet ourselves. We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that they aren’t—right at this minute—about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.” Umm, relatable. Way to read us, Taylor. In addition to this already major news for Swift fans, she also unveiled four ’70s inspired variant album jackets for her October release, which is promised to only be available this week, as a pre-sale in both vinyl and CD.

Gorillaz Announce New Album ‘Cracker Island’ And Drop Single Featuring Tame Impala
Virtual band Gorillaz have announced their new album, with a repertoire of guest features that is exciting enough to give you cardiac arrest. The new album Cracker Island is set to release on February 24, 2023. It will include the newly released single “New Gold” featuring Tame Impala and Bootie Brown—you can just imagine the speed in which this was shared in my friend group chat upon its release. The tracklist looks beyond impressive, with Thundercat on the title track, and additional features including Bad Bunny, Stevie Nicks, Beck, and Adeleye Omotayo—my BPM is rising. The album was reportedly recorded in London and LA., earlier this year, and produced by Greg Kurstin, Remi Kabaka Jr., and Gorillaz of course. I, for one, am marking this release in my calendar, as the collaborations with Elton John, Schoolboy Q, and Slowthai off of their 2020 Song Machine still live in my weekly rotations.

Anees Releases Co-Written Single “Leave Me” with Scooter Braun
Virginia songwriter and independent artist Anees released a new song “Leave Me” with music mogul Scooter Braun marked as a co-writer. Prior to release, Anees shared a snippet of the song on Instagram, sharing, “The universe has sent me a million signs that this song will absolutely shake ground… This song has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and it’s not even released yet. Especially as an independent artist, some of these blessings feel too good to be true… like the fact I got to write this song with my brotha @scooterbraun. Truly a special experience.” Well, Anees, consider the ground shook. Anees intends on remaining independent, expressing that it “feels right in my soul”. However, Braun is leaving the door open for Anees, “I told him, whatever way he wants to do it… if he wants to upstream, we’re going to help him. I’m rooting for him every step of the way.” Cute!
