Nothing signals the start of summer more than the release of the Polaris Long List. Released on June 15, it announced the musicians in the running to receive the Polaris Music Prize, an annual music award (with a cash prize of $30,000!) for the best full-length Canadian album. Each year we look forward to the names that make those coveted spots to guide us to the new music and to give praise and attention to the Canadian musicians involved. This year, names like Daniel Caesar, Witch Prophet, Andy Shauf, Jessie Reyez, and Caribou grace the list.
