As the world confronts the reality and prevalence of racial inequality, it has become obvious that there is a significant need to amplify and celebrate Black and POC voices, while overhauling the systemic racism instilled at the roots of our society. 

There have been a number of ways to show support that range from financial to educational to artistic, and importantly, showing up at the polls. It means taking the time to listen, learn, unlearn, and speak up. We’ll share some of these resources and Black voices you can follow below. 

One of these strong and valiant efforts comes from Chicago-based makeup artist and YouTuber Zoe Amira. Amira’s hour-long video is a mashup of powerful performances by Jenifer Lewis, Nyota Parker, and Nick Daly to name a few, which not only serves as an important piece celebrating Black culture but fundraises by collecting dollars from each streaming view. All you have to do is click play. 

“100% of the ad revenue this video makes through AdSense will be donated to the associations that offer protester bail funds, help pay for family funerals, and advocacy that are listed in the beginning of the video,” Amira writes on her YouTube post. “Please share this video, make sure to leave the ads running, repeat the video, and let people know about this easy way to help.”

A few things to note: turn off your adblockers, don’t skip the ads, there’s a lot of them (this is the point! More ads means more dollars) and if you repeat the video, make sure to click away and come back again, to ensure your streaming views count towards AdSense. 

While this is a great addition to your advocacy, we encourage our readers to keep searching out ways to fight for racial justice and celebrate POC voices. We vow to continue our commitment to identify and take action on what we can do as a company to fight for real change. We don’t want to live in a world with less colour.
