Justin Bieber started his career on YouTube, so after a four-year hiatus from the music industry it only makes sense that he start a new chapter there as well. Today, a brand new docuseries, “Justin Bieber: Seasons,” will premiere on YouTube, with two episodes premiering weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next five weeks.
A previously released trailer for “Seasons” gives us a sneak peek of what to expect, as well as some of the participants in the series (which include his wife Hailey Bieber and manager Scooter Braun). In a press release announcing the series, YouTube global head of original content Susanne Daniels noted that Bieber’s “inspiring story” and “courage as an artist” are what drew the streaming giant to partnering with the artist on the release. The making of Bieber’s fifth studio album and his return to the spotlight will be a main focus of the series.
Even after a long break, Justin Bieber is still the most subscribed artist on YouTube, with 48 million subscribers, and over 19 billion views across his channel. He will net a reported $20 million for airing “Seasons” on YouTube, which is believed to be YouTube Original Content’s priciest acquisition to date.
