In a world where “making it” as a musician becomes ever more challenging (and making a reasonable financial income from music ever more laughable), a little help may make all the difference. Announcing the ELEVATE Music Project — a brand new initiative from The MRG Group that aims to do just that.
Recognizing the need for support in the local music industry, ELEVATE offers developing artists across British Columbia a credible platform and pivotal opportunity to propel their careers. This project boasts prizes totalling over $50,000, creating access to networks and resources that emerging musicians don’t always have.
ELEVATE Music Project will award the winning act with a spot in Vancouver’s Westward Music Festival 2020 lineup (which has showcased major acts like Joji, The Paper Kites, and Blood Orange, to name a few). The winner will also be featured in BeatRoute Magazine with online media support, $2500 cash, $2500 credit to Long & McQuade, and professional press photos. Second- and third-place winners also scoop up major swag. Stay tuned as more prizes are announced!
The deadline for applications is midnight on November 3, 2019. Round one of the ELEVATE competition kicks off on November 22, 2019 at the Biltmore Cabaret. Three finalists will compete for the grand prize in a final performance at the Vogue Theatre in February 2020.
