With October coming to an end, the new year is fast approaching – which means there’s only a few months left to binge the best releases of 2024. Here are the top shows that took social media by storm this year, and some of the best songs on their track lists.

Griselda
If you’ve watched Narcos or love Sofia Vergara, ‘Griselda’ is the show for you. This perfect docudrama explores Griselda Blanco’s chase for power and wealth in Miami as a well known drug lord. After the six episodes, you’ll be wanting more from the cast, which includes Karol G, Alberto Geurra, Vanessa Ferlito, and others. Viewers applaud their performance, highlighting their ability to bring each character to life through the screen — even more reason to add this to your must-see list (and your must-hear list since it’s packed with the waviest sounds). Keep an ear out for Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff”, David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”, and Afrosound’s “Maria Isabel” to bring you back to to the olden, golden days.
Baby Reindeer
There’s nothing like watching a dramatic, psychological thriller and finding out that it’s based on real life. ‘Baby Reindeer’, created by Richard Gadd, is a British series following the story of Donny Dunn being stalked by a customer at the bar he works at. Except Donny Dunn is based on Richard Gadd’s own true story. This creepy, edge-of-your-seat chiller also touches on some weighted subjects, bringing a raw, exceptional and even emotional experience to its audience. Titles like “Across the Darkness”, “Alone Again (Naturally)”, “Bad Energy” and “Sweet Dreams (Of You)” really set the tone for what we can expect watching the show.
Nobody Wants This
On a lighter note, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell come together in this year’s newest rom-com to give us a light-hearted, feel-good show. Already renewed for a second season, the show follows the love story of an agnostic sex-podcaster and a rabbi, and the highs and lows of navigating their unconventional relationship. We’re loving all the love – and the soundtrack, which includes familiar favourites like “Margaret” by Lana Del Rey featuring Bleachers, “brutal” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Knock Knock” by Mac Miller and even “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by Soulja Boy.
Outer Banks
The Kooks and Pogues are back with the fourth season of OBX. The first five episodes of the season dropped earlier this month, and fans are waiting for the second part, set to release in November. Last we saw, the show ended with jaw-dropping confessions – and this season is giving us even more with a new hunt – for Blackbeard’s treasure. And, to help guide us through the mystery, we get Tame Impala, The Greyhounds, Los Muertos, The Zips and more. #P4L !!!!
The Perfect Couple
Everybody loves weddings, except maybe when a body is found right before. Spooky season has been upon us and that means mysteries are all the rage. The miniseries originally based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel unravels the story of a perfect couple: now everyone’s a suspect at their wedding. It’s puzzling, but the track list makes perfect sense. From Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke” to “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate, to “Feather” by Sabrina Carpenter, there’s even more reason to binge the six-episode series.
