In a message posted on Instagram, Mac Miller’s family have announced a new album from the late rapper. The project is entitled Circles and will release on January 17.

The statement reveals how Miller worked on Circles with producer Jon Brion, “who dedicated himself to finishing (the album) based on his time and conversations with Malcolm.” Brion is noted for his work with Fiona Apple, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean, among others.

Circles is a companion to Mac Miller’s Swimming, which also featured production from Brion and was posthumously nominated for the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. “Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle,” the statement explains. “‘Swimming in circles’ was the concept.”

Circles will release two days before what would have been Miller’s 28th birthday on Jan. 19. Read the family’s full statement below.
