4: #1 Singles

It’s hard to believe Grande didn’t have a Billboard #1 single until the ubiquitous self-love anthem that was “thank u, next.” Since then, Grande has racked up four number one hits, all four of which have debuted in the top spot. With her most recent chart-topper, “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga, Grande broke out of a tie with Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, and Drake for the most songs ever to open at the summit.

5: Albums in the Billboard Top 10

Since debuting with the doo-wop tinged Yours Truly back in 2013, each of Grande’s lead singles from her five previously-released albums have debuted in the Billboard Top 10. She is the only artist in history to accomplish this feat. After humbly starting at #9 with “The Way,” she followed up with “Problem,” “Dangerous Woman,” “no tears left to cry,” and “thank u, next.” Her latest single, “positions,” is well on track to follow the trend.

8: Guinness Book of World Records

In addition to her many musical accolades, Grande is successful enough that she can claim to be an equally outstanding human being as that one lady with the excessively long fingernails. She is the current holder of eight certifications from the Guinness Book of World Records. Her records mostly have to do with Spotify streaming on her massive singles “thank u, next” and “7 rings,” which became the song with the most-ever opening week streams—totaling nearly 15 million.

There have been countless comparisons made to the “Queen of Christmas” Mariah Carey throughout Grande’s career, but she can stake her own claim on the holiday season as well. There’s no better way to utilize all of the space in your Hollywood Hills mansion than filling it up with canine companions. Every one of her dogs was a rescue, and three are named after Harry Potter characters: Lily, Snape, and Sirius.

While known primarily as a pop princess and TV child star, Grande’s first love was actually musical theatre. She got her professional career started at the age of only 15 on Broadway, performing in the musical 13. 46: Star-Studded Collabs

Despite her most successful album being a highly personal one-woman show, Grande is no stranger to collaboration, releasing 46 songs as a co-headliner over the course of her career. She has worked with modern artists as diverse as Young Thug and Lana Del Rey, as well as legends like Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, and even Andrea Bocelli. Most of these facts about Grande could be told through her very own body art. In what is a personal favourite outrageous fact about Grande, in her 2013 single “Baby I,” she ends up saying the word “baby” 62 times. For a song that stands at three minutes and 17 seconds in length, that’s approximately 18.9 babies per minute, nearing a third of the entire song. Regardless, the track contains some of her most impressive vocal runs and whistle notes.  

130: Awards

Over the course of her 11-year singing and acting career, Grande has been the recipient of 130 competitive awards from award shows all over the world. That grand total includes three American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, 12 Teen Choice Awards, and surprisingly enough, only a single Grammy: Best Pop Vocal Album for 2018’s Sweetener. That’s enough to take up quite a few trophy cabinets.

1964: History In The Making

While Drake once famously claimed that he has “more slaps than The Beatles,” there’s one record by the Fab Four that he hasn’t been able to touch—yet. Upon the release of Grande’s last album, thank u, next, she became the first artist since 1964 to occupy the entire top 3 of the Billboard charts with the album’s three singles. Impressively, all but one of the album’s tracks charted in the Top 40 in the same week. Of course, The Beatles had the entire top 5, but that’s another story.

29M: Somewhere Over The Rainbow

One of the most incredible achievements in Grande’s career so far was how quickly she was able to get back on stage and present the benefit concert One Love Manchester in the aftermath of a tragic bombing at a 2017 concert. With guest performers including Pharrell, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, and Grande’s own show-stopping cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the show raised the equivalent of about $29 million CAD for the victims and their families.

204M: Instagram Followers

While the record was held for many years by fellow child star Selena Gomez, in February 2019 Grande passed her to become the most-followed woman on Instagram. She currently stands at 204 million as she continues to post almost exclusively selfies and dogs, which is a pretty winning combination. This past September, she became only the second person to hit 200 million, after soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite hitting some impressive YouTube numbers on her recent singles, Grande’s most-viewed video on the platform is her Dangerous Woman single “Side To Side,” featuring Nicki Minaj.
